Former England full-back Mike Brown has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the current season.

Brown, who currently plays for Newcastle Falcons, had an illustrious career representing both England and Harlequins.

The 35-year-old made his debut for England in 2007 and went on to earn 72 caps for the national team.

He was a key player during England’s Six Nations triumphs in 2016 and 2017, as well as their Grand Slam victory in 2016.

Brown also enjoyed success at club level, winning the Premiership title with Harlequins in 2012.

Despite facing a number of injuries in recent years, Brown has remained a stalwart presence in the English rugby scene.

His decision to retire comes as a surprise to many, but Brown has expressed his desire to pursue other opportunities outside of rugby.

He will be remembered as one of England’s most dependable and consistent players, known for his tough tackling and attacking prowess.

Brown’s final season in rugby will no doubt be a bittersweet farewell to a remarkable career that spanned over a decade.
